AAR 8-13-08

Thanks to Sabot for running the game for us and Chopper for use of the field.

I'm glad to say that it was just hot and not HOT for a change. Mother Nature does not like us by the way. Anyone notice that it would only rain when we were at the parking area under the canopy? Throw that gear on and she holds out on the rain.

We had good turnout, I want to say there was 12 present this time out. We welcomed some new players and had some old friends come out to play.

We played 4 games before the heat started becoming an issue.

First game was grab the ammo crate - a single ammo crate was placed on a barrel in the middle of the village. Both teams Green and Tan were to fight their way across the open field, grab the crate and return to their spawn point with it.

Being Tan we started on the North side of the village. We rushed up to the bunker on the north end to be greeted my m249 fire from Sabot from the communication tower side of the village. Bardock and DxM were working from the West side. Through some course of events they managed to change positions with Knight for control or the bunker. I worked my way across the East side of the field and up into the tree line beside the communications tower. Kraut managed to sneak to the bunker and I believe did bad things to the bulk of our team with the mac 10 of doom. As I advance on the comm tower, Knight radios out that they have possession of the crate. I see James walking to the spawn point but as I start to shoot him Brian starts unloading on me disrupting the opportunity. We exchange fire just long enough for James to escape and take the win for Green. Nice work guys.

Second game was hold the crate - Green has the crate secured in the comm tower and must defend it to the death. Green has single elimination rules in place where they die they return to the parking area.

Attack strategy was pretty similar to the first game on this one. Chopper and I advanced on the East side to get to the ravine. Chopper managed to get clear to the trees but James decided that I didn't have enough dirt in my diet so he held me down in the ravine with some suppression fire. I managed to crawl to the protection of the trees and met up with Chopper in the treeline about 30 feet from the comm tower. He called out for suppression fire to cover us for a rush on the tower. By this point the game had run for 45 minutes to an hour. When the suppression fire started, they managed to kill the last 2 Green defenders before we were able to run to the comm tower. Great job with the covering fire Knight, DxM and Bardock. Tan is victorious in liberating the ammo crate from the Green stronghold.

Third game was down pilot - Pilot was aligned with Green and Tan is to hunt and capture him.

Due to a minor communication error we thought the pilot area was 12 squares so we chose a path to cover maximum area. We didn't know the Green starting position so we set our pace to cautious to avoid being ambushed. We took a very impressive tour of the wooded half of the field looking for the pilot. Chopper, thanks for the tour and pointing out all the sights along the way haha. Green was on top of their game and recovered the pilot without firing a shot.

Fourth game was hunt the Tans/ defend the fort

Tan set up a screen along the dam/fort row of grids to cut the field in half. Knight and I took the East side and Chopper, DxM and Bardock took the western half. Green elected to travel in the ridge between the pond and the dam, so Knight and I never got to engage them. From what I was hearing, the other Tans were slugging it out with Green on the other side of the fort. Green managed to push Tan back into the East/West road behind the fort and captured it. Nice work Green.

Overall, I think that Green came out victorious for the day but fun was had by all who attended.

When you have secured the area, make sure the enemy knows it too.

Yeah man or at least email me any pics of me. I know you got at least one good action shot. I think if you upload them to photobucket as well they automatically resize them if I'm not mistaken.
