Paintball Convert

Postby razor on Sun Apr 05, 2009 6:59 pm

I have been wanting to try airsoft for some time now, well I played one time but it was quite a while ago. Just ordered a gun and hope it will be here before the next game. I used to play some paintball, but it just was way too expensive and the speed-ball loses its appeal pretty quickly. So I am looking forward to giving this a shot in a few weeks. I don't know if I just can't find it or what, but is there a link to directions for the field you guys play at?

Airsoft is much better than paintball. For each paintball game I played, I spent at least $30... airsoft, it's $10 to play at OKCAG and free to play at home. Can't say that about paintball - you fill your CO2 which normally cost me $10 every time, then the ridiculous cost of the paintballs themselves... ugh.

yeah, when i was playing paintball in seattle it usually cost me about $60 per week. You also see a lot more immature kids. The guys I played airsoft with the one time were much more pleasant to be around.

+1

Seems like every little teeny bopper kid has a cheap paintball gun. It's sort of like playing Xbox Live with a bunch of little dipshits.

Airsoft people are all around much more friendly and it's usually not a giant dickwaving competition like it is with paintball. So you've got a $3000 fully automatic gun... that shoots paint. Congratulations, for $3000 I can get a class 3 license and go shoot fully automatic guns that shoot real bullets!

That's an exaggeration but you get what I mean. :P

I've only played paintball twice, once back in Ohio and once here. Both times I spent over $60 on rentals, paint, air, and field fee. For games that lasted 30sec. And took place in what looked like a McDonald's Playland. The time we did use the forest it was almost devoid of vegetation due to the paint stripping everything.
And the players... My friend was shot in the lower back from 6 inches away by a 12 year old... Not. Cool.

Anyway, enough ragging on paintball.

You're more than welcome to visit the field on a game day, meet us, see our guns and gear, and even rent one and participate.
Hope to see you in the field soon!

Paintball's fun in its own regard, I had several pretty fun games one day when it was raining on my property. Good thing about the guns is that they're designed to be wet from paint, so rain doesn't affect them. Wouldn't trust an AEG in that respect, even though I've seen videos of people submerging them and then shooting them. The hits in paintball are a bit more painful but whatever, I've had airsoft hits that hurt a lot worse than anything in Speedball. But you're absolutely right about the game taking place in a McDonald's Playland. :D
