IS anyone planning on going to this? I am going and a slim chance my brother is. I (we) will be going on the Eastern Bloc (Russian) side. For those that don't know and haven't checked it out yet it's NATO vs Eastern Bloc. The E.B. is Russia and E. Germany.

So is anyone thinking about it?

I don't blame you on that one. I have the perfect NATO gun and web harness but thats about it. The Russian stuff is kind of hard to find and then it's a little but more pricey (pending where you get it.) But all my Comrades play Russian so I have to go. Or get ragged on, shot and interrogated for the night. Ya...they actually interogate the POW's at the OP.

So you going with anyone else from OKC? Think you can take a whole week of it? It will be fun.

This is just to inform everyone interested that Matt and I are forming a British NATO squad. We are looking into bulk purchases of equipment, meaning we will rent out equipment so no one needs to make a big permanent financial investment. We need 8 total to be accepted, and so far it's just the two of us. This is a great event, put on by some great people, and it's going to be even better now after they fix the flaws from the first time. Anyone interested shoot either Matt or me a PM for more info.

Cheers!

Now I was wanting to go but I'm getting rid of my nato weapons right now, is there any specific weapon you guy's are using going as a squad. Right now I'm thinking I may go East Block so I can use my AK, If mister Ian Bivens ever sends me the VSS to finish and I indeed finish East Block will be definate.

By the way I read somewhere it was 9 days long not a week, is this correct and how long are you guys planning to stay.

Good luck with that, Sil. I've been trained on how to avoid capture ;)

You wanna go Brit, Chopper! We're using either L85 or FAL for our primaries. L85s are better because they're more modern and use M4 mags.

It is 9 days long, but you're not bound to all 9. All the info is on their site.

Don't listen to Kraut, go on the Eastern Bloc side! We have women with AK's! lol

Like Kraut said it's 9 days, but you can stay for one or 9. Price is the same.
(Unless you don't eat or sleep with them then you pay by the day. More info on it at the main site. Links posted above)

I read somewhere on there they were thinking about doing away with the one day solider because they didn't like the way it worked out last time.

I was more intrested in being a border guard, all ways on the front and the chance to give a bunch of people a hard time at check points but you have to be there the whole time.

I'm still debating which side, either way I get to by new gun :D.

No, they still have the militia, read the site :P
From what Matt told me, the Border Guards really didn't get much action, and were mostly just knocked around by the main forces. Just what I heard, though. You should talk to Matt Sunday to get a better idea.

Just remember, border guards can easily be surrounded. That would mean you food cant get to you! lol

What I like about this year is it's on new land (same location just a different patch) and the story is different. That's a good thing. Not a repeat and no home field advantage. Whether NATO or EB it will be awesome.

But EB gear is a tad pricey. for the leather webgear (just belt and suspenders) for it will fun ~$50 after shipping. And for 2 sets of camo and the basic gear, (nickle and dime stuff) it comes to around $250 + shipping. And then there is your pack for the gear, guns, blah blah blah. NATO is easier to do and alot cheaper. Some get a satisfaction out of working and getting hard to find gear, like TTSkO (I found some YES!). But then again, NATO gets better chow. The EB side gets EB food following Russian algorithms for nutrition and calorie intake.

But if you do play NATO, I will capture you with Kraut. It will be my mission of the week. Knowing me I'll go to take a leak you you two will nab me and drag me back there.

The Germans are responsible for their own food this time.

I've found that Brit kit is pretty cheap (15 for LBG, 40 for 2 sets of uniforms, etc). So far there's four of us, we could use more.

I tried some of the EB food. I could've built a bomb-proof fort out of the biscuits, using the 'fish paste' as adhesive.

After talking with the C.O, I have a green light on the E.B. If you guys put down the uniforms ill donate 500 for the periferal gear, I.E. web gear pouches com gear and stuff. I will also need to have you guys source me an L85 or fal. Kraut, maybe i could borrow yours for a skirmish and try it out. Still dont like that bullpup though. need some time with it. (i like that it takes M4 mags though which makes me want to try it) Money for donation will be availabe in a month. Let me know if you need more and ill see what i can do.

Good news, full Pattern 58 webbing plus back pack are available in very good condition and CHEAP at Brigadoons on Sunnylane Rd. Matt and I just got ours together, inspected, and 'tested' and like them. Takes a little getting used to, sits a little higher than expected, and is definitely not your High Speed Low Drag super delta seal gear, but it's fun nonetheless. Also grabbed a pickax, a shelter-half kit (not for main camp site), and some 'commando' sweaters. Damn those things itch, recommend some long sleeve t-shirts under those. We've got a set of these coming for that.
Also, some DPM shirts:

Brigadoon's supply was more expensive.
Still looking for some DPM Goretex and cheaper DPM pants, if possible. We will be field-testing the kit at the end of September at the 1Shepherd MILES Light Leadership Course in Missouri.
