Allrighty, it looks like it's time to take a good hard look at what we do around here and maybe some folks will understand the problem with giving yourself silly-assed names when choosing what you go by on the forums and the field. Many people don't seem to realize that most likely on the field your callsign will also be your screen name.
We play Mil-Sim a.k.a. “War Games” here. That commonly involves communication both by voice and by radio.
Please tell me WTF are we supposed to call you when you have callsigns like these:
Pro9killem333all
dea333th2all
1337SEAL08
MARINESCOUTSNIPER
Ub3rMas73rNinja
xuntilxixdiex
And there are MANY, many more that are just as unpronounceable over the radio as these. While it may sound cool to you, just think about what kind of handle WE the staff get to give you on the field now.
In the future, new players should really think about how they wish to be addressed on the field. Two syllable names are the easiest to clearly pronounce via radio and be understood. Many times, the first part of a transmission will be clipped, but you can still understand the second part and at least ask for a resend if you didn't copy. Anything with Guy or Dude as well as numbers, should be avoided. Man, should only be used in certain conditions such as in a proper name.
Names with a military rank in them (Captain, General etc…) should not be used out of respect for those that have earned those titles.
Use a little imagination. If you can’t think of a cool name you’d like to use just go by your last name, initials, or a combination until we bestow you a name. If we think your name is stupid we will call you FNG, Sally or some other embarassing and degrading name until such time you deserve a more fitting title.
If at some point you decide that you want to change your screen name, please let a Admin/Moderator know. They can change it for you and there is no need to create a new account.
